WhatsApp soon to have voice calling, screenshots leaked

WhatsApp is a fantastically popular way to send messages to other Smartphone users, no matter what platform they’re on – so popular, in fact, that Facebook saw fit to throw $19 billion at the company in an effort to acquire it earlier this year. And while WhatsApp may do text messaging quite well, sometimes we crave the sort of communication you only get when speaking directly to a person. Voice call support has been expected to come to the app for a while now, with early hints popping up months back, but now it looks like the pieces might finally be falling into place, as the latest Android WhatsApp release reveals just such a voice call framework.

Now, a Netherlands based Android focused website, androidworld.nl has published alleged screenshots of a build of the WhatsApp that offers calling features. Perhaps the build is being used by testers or employees and the features will be included in the official build when it's finally announced. The alleged screenshots show what could be the future calling features of WhatsApp.

The update could still be in beta version so it's not released on the Google Play Store. There seems to be separate screens for call logs and ongoing calls and dialing a voice call. We're not sure if these images are legit but we don't doubt that there is a beta build somewhere. The only question now is when the official version would roll out. It’s difficult to verify the authenticity of the screenshots and WhatsApp has not confirmed that it's testing it via beta builds. According to WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum, the delay in rolling out voice calling feature was due to technical hurdles that developers were facing. He had said that the service had been delayed till Q1 2015, speaking at an industry conference in October.

The voice calling feature will bring WhatsApp in direct clash with apps like WeChat, Viber and Line that already allow users to make calls and send messages. It is unclear whether WhatsApp plans to offer voice calls as a premium feature. WhatsApp rivals, such as Viber, Skype and Line already offer voice calling as a free feature, so it makes sense for WhatsApp to release the new feature for free.

പുതിയ കാലത്തെ വ്യവസ്ഥിതികൾ പ്രോസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂഷനെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുകയും അതിനൊരു രീതിശാസ്ത്രം തന്നെ നിർമ്മിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുവെന്നു തോന്നുന്നു. The oldest profession - എന്നു വ്യഭിചാരം വർണ്ണിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. അതിനെ പിൻതാങ്ങുന്നതിനായി പുതിയ നീതിസാരകഥകൾ പ്രചരിച്ചു. പഴയ ഫ്യൂഡൽ അന്ത:പുരങ്ങളും എൺപതുകളിൽ വ്യാപകമായി കേരളം കണ്ട ‘കന്വനി വീടു’കളും വ്യാവസായികമായി തന്നെ പുന:സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ‘സീസറി’നുള്ളത് കൃത്യമായും ‘സീസറി’നു തന്നെ എത്തിയിരുന്നു.

മാധവിമാരേയും വാസവദത്തമാരേയും കുറിച്ചു സാഹിത്യമുണ്ടായി. ആധുനിക ഭോഗ സംസ്കാരത്തെ നീതിമത്ക്കരിക്കുന്നതിനായി സാമൂഹ്യപാഠങ്ങൾ തന്നെ പുതുതായി പഠിപ്പിച്ചു. പൂമുഖവാതിൽ തുറന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവൾ കാര്യശേഷിയിൽ മന്ത്രിയും സേവനത്തിൽ ദാസിയും ലാവണ്യത്തിൽ ലക്ഷ്മിയും ശയ്യയിൽ ‘സണ്ണി ലിയോണു’മായിരിക്കണമെന്നു അമ്മായിമാർ അടക്കം പറഞ്ഞു. മനുഷ്യബോധം പണ്ടുമുതലേ വിപണിവൽക്കരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഭോഗത്തെ എതിർത്തിരുന്നു. റാഡിക്കൽ ഫെമിനിസം വ്യഭിചാരത്തെ എതിർക്കുന്നത് തന്നെ അതു മനുഷ്യാന്തസ് ഇടിച്ചുതാഴ്ത്തുന്നു എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ടുകൂടിയാവണം. ഇതിനെ തോൽപ്പിക്കാനാകണം ‘തൽപ്പരകക്ഷികൾ’ ഗണികയായവളെ ‘കണി’യാക്കി മാറ്റിയത്. തേൻ പോലെ, അശ്വത്തെ പോലെ, പല്ലക്കിനെ പോലെ, വിളക്കിനേയും കണ്ണാടിയേയും പോലെ എല്ലാ മംഗളകർമ്മങ്ങൾക്കും ശുഭശകുനമാക്കിയത്. മുഖം കണ്ടുകൊണ്ട് ഏത് കാര്യത്തിനും ഇറങ്ങുവാൻ കൊള്ളാവുന്നവൾ മറ്റ് വിശേഷങ്ങൾക്കെല്ലാം ‘തേച്ചാലും കുളിച്ചാലും പോകാത്തെ നാറ്റക്കേസാ’യി മാറുന്നതിലെ വൈരുദ്ധ്യം അല്പം ആലോചിച്ചാൽ മനസ്സിലാക്കാവുന്നതേയുള്ളു.

സ്ത്രീ സ്വത്വത്തിന്റെ മലിനീകരണവും താഴ്ത്തിക്കെട്ടലുമാണ് ലൈംഗിക വിപണിയെന്നു വാദിക്കുന്വോൾ തന്നെ ഫെമിനിസ്റ്റുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ളവർ ലൈംഗിക തൊഴിലിനെ ന്യായീകരിക്കത്തക്ക വാദമുഖങ്ങൾ ഉയർത്തിക്കാണാറുണ്ട്. ആദ്യം പറഞ്ഞതിന്റെ റിവേഴ്സ് ഗിയറിലുള്ള ഓട്ടമാണ് രണ്ടാമത്തെ വാദങ്ങളെന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. മധ്യകാലഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ ചിന്താഗതികൾ വെച്ച് ഇന്നത്തെ ജീവിതത്തെ വിലയിരുത്താനാവില്ലായെന്നത് ശരിതന്നെ. പിന്നൊരു കാര്യം എല്ലാത്തിനും ‘ലിബറിലിസം’ പറയുന്ന പലരുടെയും കണ്ണ് ‘കോഴിക്കൂട്ടി’ലാണെന്നുള്ളതും മനസ്സിലാക്കണം. തൊഴിൽ നിയമങ്ങളുമായി ‘മാംസ വിപണി’യെ കൂട്ടികെട്ടുന്ന ഒരു സന്വ്രദായവും നിലവിലുണ്ട്. മറ്റ് ഏത് തൊഴിലാളിയ്ക്കും ലഭിക്കുന്ന മാന്യതയും അംഗീകാരവും ലൈംഗിക തൊഴിലാളിയ്ക്കും ലഭിക്കണമെന്ന് വാദിക്കുന്നവർ ചൂണ്ടികാട്ടുന്നത് ഒരു സ്ത്രീ സ്വമേധയാ ഇതൊരു തൊഴിലായി സ്വീകരിച്ചാൽ കുഴപ്പമില്ല അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിച്ചാലേ എതിർക്കേണ്ടതുള്ളു എന്നാണ്. കുരുടൻ ആനയെ കണ്ടതു പോലെയാണ് പലപ്പോഴും ഇത്തരം വാദങ്ങൾ. കാരണം വ്യവസ്ഥിതിയെ സമഗ്രതയിൽ കാണാതെ വ്യക്തിയെ മാത്രമാണ് ഇത്തരം സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ മിക്കവരും പരിഗണിക്കുന്നത്. ബസ് സ്റ്റാന്റുകളുടെയും റെയിൽവേ സ് റ്റേഷനുകളുടെയും ഇരുട്ടുമൂടിയ തിണ്ണകളായാലും ഫൈവ് സ്റ്റാർ ഹോട്ടലിന്റെ ശീതീകരിച്ച മുറികളായാലും വിൽക്കലിനും വാങ്ങലിനും പ്രാഥമികമായി ‘കന്വോള’ത്തിന്റെ നിയമങ്ങളാണുണ്ടാവുക. വിൽപ്പനചരക്കാവുകയെന്നുള്ളത് സാംസ്കാരികപ്രശ്നം മാത്രമല്ല അപമാനവീകരണം കൂടിയാണ്. കരുണാമയനായ ഉപഗുപ്തന് വാസവദത്തയുടെ നെറുകയിൽ തലോടി ആശ്വാസവാക്കുകൾ ഉരുവിടാനേ കഴിയൂ. മാറ്റം വരുത്തുവാൻ വ്യവസ്ഥിതിയോട് സമരം ചെയ്യണമെങ്കിൽ സമരം തന്നെ ചെയ്യണം.

‘പ്പിള്ളി’വൽക്കരണം - ആദ്യഭാഗം

നമ്മുടെ NH കളിലൂടെയുള്ള യാത്രകൾക്കിടയിൽ ധാരാളം പരസ്യബോർഡുകളും മറ്റും കാണുകയെന്നുള്ളത് ഒരു സാധാരണകാര്യമാണല്ലോ. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു യാത്രക്കിടയ്ക്ക് നമ്മുടെ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് അനേകം ശാഖകളുള്ള ഒരു വ്യാപാരസ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ പരസ്യബോർഡുകളിൽ കണ്ട ഒരു സംഗതി കൗതുകമുള്ളതായി തോന്നി. അതായത് ആ സ്ഥാപനത്തിനു കരുനാഗപ്പള്ളിയിലും ശാഖയുണ്ട്. അവരുടെ പരസ്യബോർഡുകളിൽ ശാഖകളുടെ പേരെഴുതി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കൂട്ടത്തിൽ തിരുവനന്തപുരം, കൊല്ലം ഭാഗത്തൊക്കെ കരുനാഗപ്പള്ളിയെന്നാണ് എഴുതിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. എന്നാൽ എറണാകുളം, തൃശൂർ ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് എത്തുന്വോൾ കരുനാഗ’പ്പിള്ളി’യാകുന്നു. എന്താണ് ഇങ്ങനെയൊരു മാറ്റമെന്നു പെട്ടെന്നു പിടികിട്ടിയില്ല. കരുനാഗപ്പള്ളി കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലാണ്. ശരിയായ വാക്ക് കരുനാഗപ്പള്ളിയെന്നുമാണ്. പിന്നെയെങ്ങനെയാണ് ഈ ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ വന്നത് ? അക്ഷരതെറ്റ് സംഭവിക്കുവാൻ വഴിയില്ല. ലക്ഷങ്ങൾ ചെലവഴിച്ചു വലിയ പരസ്യകന്വനികളെ കൊണ്ട് ചെയ്യിക്കുന്ന പരസ്യത്തിലെ മാറ്ററൊക്കെ സൂഷ്മപരിശോധനയൊന്നുമില്ലാതെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ മുന്നിലെത്തുകയില്ലല്ലോ.

അങ്ങനെ തൃശൂർ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ പ്രൈവറ്റ് ബസുകളിലും KSRTC ബസുകളിൽ പോലും ഈ ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ ശ്രദ്ധയിൽപ്പെട്ടു. വരന്തരപ്പിള്ളി, വാടാനപ്പിള്ളി, തലപ്പിള്ളി, ആതിരപ്പിള്ളി എന്നിങ്ങിനെ. നിത്യജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ ബസുകളുടെ ബോർഡുകളിലും പരസ്യബോർഡുകളിലും കടന്നുകൂടിയതു കൊണ്ടാകണം ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ പെട്ടന്നു തന്നെ സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തിയത്. എന്നാലും എഴുത്തുകുത്തുകളിലും മറ്റും സ്ഥലപ്പേര് ഉപയോഗിക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്വോൾ കുറച്ചുപേർ ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ ചേർത്തും പിന്നെ കുറച്ചുപേർ ‘പ്പള്ളി’ ചേർത്തും എഴുതി കാണാറുണ്ട്. ശരിയായതു ഏതാണെന്നു അത്ര കൃത്യതയില്ലാത്തതുപോലെ. കേരളത്തിലെ റോഡുകളിലും പൊതുസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ഫ്ലക്സ് ബോർഡുകളുടെ വ്യാപനത്തോടെയാണ് ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ നാട്ടിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങി തുടങ്ങിയത്. സംസാര ഭാഷയിലെ വ്യത്യാസം പോലെയാണോ ഇതെന്നൊരു സംശയവും എനിക്കുണ്ടാകാതിരുന്നില്ല. അതായത് കൊല്ലത്തുള്ളവർ ‘എന്താ’ എന്ന് ചോദിക്കുന്നതിന് തൃശൂരുകാർ ‘എന്തൂട്ട് ’ എന്നാണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. അത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെ പ്രാദേശികമായ സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി നിൽക്കുന്നവയാണ്. എന്നാൽ ‘പ്പിള്ളി’യ്ക്ക് അങ്ങനെയൊരു പശ്ചാത്തലം കാണാൻ കഴിയില്ലായെന്നുള്ളതാണ് വസ്തുത. ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ യെന്ന പദം മലയാളഭാഷയിലെ ഒരു നിഘണ്ടുവിലുമില്ല. ശബ്ദതരാവലിയിലോ അമരകോശത്തിലോ പുതിയ പദങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി പ്രതിപാദിക്കുന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽ പോലുമോ ഇല്ല. എന്നിട്ടും ഈ പദം എങ്ങനെയാണ് ഇത്രയധികം സ്ഥലപ്പേരുകളിലും ചില വീട്ടുപേരുകളിലും കയറിക്കൂടിയത്. പഴയ റവന്യു രേഖകളിലൊന്നും ഈ ‘പ്പിള്ളി’ ഭ്രമം കാണാത്തതിനാൽ ഇത് അടുത്ത കാലത്തുനടന്ന ‘തിരുത്തൽ വാദ’മാകാനേ വഴിയുള്ളു.

അതിലേക്ക് പോകുന്വോഴാണ് ചില കാര്യങ്ങൾ വെളിച്ചത്തിലേക്ക് വരുന്നത്. സ്ഥലനാമങ്ങളിൽ തിരുത്തലുകൾ വരുത്തി അവയുടെ ചരിത്രബന്ധത്തെ തന്നെ മായിച്ചു കളയുവാൻ കഴിയുമോ എന്നുള്ള പരിശ്രമമായിതന്നെ ഇതിനെ പരിഗണിക്കണം. വാക്കുകളെ തലകുത്തനെ നിർത്തി ചരിത്രപരമായ സ്വത്വത്തെ മറച്ചു പിടിക്കുവാനും വികലീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഭാഷയിലൂടെ പുതിയൊരു സാംസ്കാരിക ബോധത്തെ കടത്തിവിട്ടു അതുവഴി സ്ഥാപിത താൽപ്പര്യങ്ങളുടെ അധീശത്വം നിലനിർത്താനുമുള്ള പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളായി തന്നെ ഇത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളെ തിരിച്ചറിയപ്പെടേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഇതിന്റെ വലിയ സ് കെയിലിലുള്ള രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിനൊരു ഉദാഹരണമാണ് സെന്റ് പീറ്റേഴ് സ് ബർഗ് ലെനിൻഗ്രേഡായതും പിന്നെ വീണ്ടുമത് സെന്റ് പീറ്റേഴ് സ് ബർഗ് ആയതുമൊക്കെ.

‘പ്പിള്ളി’വൽക്കരണം - രണ്ടാംഭാഗം

മതിലകം രേഖകളിൽ പരാമർശിക്കുന്ന ബുദ്ധകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായ മിത്രാനന്ദപുരവും അനന്തൻകാടുമാണ് പിന്നീട് തിരുവനന്തപുരമാകുന്നതെന്നും വി. വി. കെ. വാലത്ത് (1998) വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. കേരളം മാത്രമല്ല പ്രാചീനമായ തെന്നിന്ത്യ ആകെയെടുത്താലും ‘പ്പള്ളി’ ചേർന്നുവരുന്ന സ്ഥലനാമങ്ങൾക്ക് ധാരാളം ഉദാഹരണങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തുവാൻ കഴിയും. കർണ്ണാടകയിലും ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശിലുമൊക്കെ ‘ഹള്ളി’, ‘ബള്ളി’ എന്നീ വാക്കുകളാണ് കൂടുതലും അന്നുപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. ശ്രീ ശങ്കരനും കുമാരില ഭട്ടനുമൊക്കെ എട്ട്, ഒന്വത് നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളിൽ രാജഭരണത്തിന്റെ പിൻബലത്തോടെ ഭാരതത്തിലുടനീളം നടത്തിയ ബുദ്ധമത നിഷ്ക്കാസനത്തിന്റെയും ഏതാണ്ട് അക്കാലത്തുണ്ടായ വൈഷ്ണവ-ശൈവ ഭക്തി പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ വൻതോതിലുള്ള വ്യാപനത്തിന്റെയും ഫലമായി ഇവിടെ പടർന്നിരുന്ന ബുദ്ധ സംസ്കൃതിയുടെ ശേഷിപ്പുകളെ മായിച്ചു കളയാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ കൂടുതൽ മാരകമായിട്ടുള്ളത് ചരിത്രത്തെ അപ്പാടെ മാറ്റിയെഴുതുന്ന പുതിയ ക്രിയാതന്ത്രങ്ങളാണ്. ഇത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ചു ബോദ്ധ്യമുണ്ടാകുന്വോഴാണ് ‘പ്പള്ളി’ ‘പ്പിളളി’ യാകുന്നത് കേവലമൊരു അക്ഷരത്തെറ്റോ ഉച്ചാരണ പിശകോ അല്ലായെന്നു മനസിലാകുന്നത്.

തെക്കേയിന്ത്യയുടെ ബഹുജന സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ സൂചകമായിരുന്നു ‘പള്ളി’ യെന്ന വാക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ‘പാലി’ ഭാഷ. ഈ ഭാഷയിലെ പള്ളിയെന്ന വാക്കാണ് ബുദ്ധമതക്കാർ അവരുടെ ആരാധനാ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളുടെ പേരുകൾക്കൊപ്പം ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നത്. പിന്നീട് കേരളത്തിൽ ക്രൈസ്തവരും മുസ്ലീങ്ങളും അവരുടെ ആരാധനാലയങ്ങൾക്കും ഈ വാക്ക് തന്നെയാണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് എന്നത് ചരിത്രപരമായ ഒരു കൗതുകമാണ്. ഈ ഭാഷയിൽ നിന്നു തന്നെയാണ് പള്ളിക്കൂടം എന്നു മലയാളികൾ നിത്യേന ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന വാക്കും വരുന്നത്. ഇത് കേരളത്തിലൊരിടത്തും ഇന്നു വരെയും ‘പിള്ളി’ക്കൂടം ആയിട്ടില്ല. ജനഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ ആഴ്ന്നുപോയിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു വാക്കിനെ തൊട്ടാൽ പെട്ടെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയപ്പെടുമെന്നുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടാകാം തിരുത്തലുകാരൊന്നും ആ വഴിക്കൊരു ശ്രമം നടത്താത്തത്. ഒരു ജനതയുടെ ആവിഷ്കാരമായിരുന്ന പാലി ഭാഷ ഇന്നു മൃതഭാഷയായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കുവാൻ എന്തെങ്കിലും വഴികളുണ്ടോയെന്നും അതിന് എന്തെങ്കിലും ശ്രമങ്ങൾ നടക്കുന്നുണ്ടോയെന്നുള്ളതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഒരു എത്തും പിടിയും എങ്ങുനിന്നും കിട്ടുന്നില്ലായെന്നുള്ളതാണ് വാസ്തവം. അക്കാദമിക് രംഗവും ഗവേഷണ രംഗവുമൊക്കെ എത്രകാലം ഇങ്ങനെ കണ്ണും പൂട്ടി പാലുകുടിച്ചുകഴിയും?

നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളായി ജനങ്ങളെ മർദ്ദിച്ചൊതുക്കി മേൽനോട്ടം നടത്തുകയും മുലക്കരവും തലക്കരവും പിരിച്ചു തീണ്ടാപ്പാടകലെ നിർത്തിയും വെട്ടിത്തള്ളുകയും കഴുവേറ്റുകയും ചുട്ടുകൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്ത ക്ഷുദ്രവ്യവസ്ഥിതി ആധുനിക കാലത്തു വേഷം മാറി ജനങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ തിരിയുന്നതാണ് തീവ്രവാദവും വർഗ്ഗീയതയും ഫാസിസവും ഭരണകൂട ഭീകരതയും നിക്ഷിപിത താൽപ്പര്യങ്ങൾ വെച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള മാധ്യമ പ്രവർത്തനവുമൊക്കെ. ജനങ്ങളെ അടിച്ചമർത്തുകയും കൊന്നുകൊലവിളിക്കുകയും രക്തവും കണ്ണീരുമൊക്കെ ചാലുകളായി ഒഴുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനൊപ്പം ഈക്കൂട്ടർക്കുള്ള ഒരു ‘ലഷർ ടൈം’ പരിപാടിയാണ് ചരിത്രം തിരുത്തിയും തെറ്റിച്ചും എഴുതുകയും അത് പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുകയെന്നുള്ളത്. ആദ്യമൊക്കെ ഇത് ലളിതമായും ‘ശിശുസൗഹാർദ്ദ’പരമായിട്ടുമൊക്കെയായിരിക്കും നടത്തുക. ഒരുപക്ഷേ അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഒരു LKG ലവൽ പരിപാടിയായിരിക്കാം ഈ ‘പ്പിള്ളി’വൽക്കരണം. എന്തായാലും നമ്മൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെ ഇരുന്നുകൂടാ, സംശയിക്കാതെയും.

ശാസ്ത്രവും വിശ്വാസവും തമ്മിലുള്ള സമന്വയത്തിന്റെ കാര്യമൊക്കെ പറയുന്നവരുണ്ട്. അതൊന്നും ഒരിക്കലും നടക്കുന്ന കാര്യമല്ല. ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊന്ന് ശരിയോ തെറ്റോ എന്നല്ല പറയുന്നത്, രണ്ടും രണ്ടാണെന്നുള്ളതാണ് വസ്തുത. രണ്ടും അതിന്റെതായ വഴിയിൽ സമൂഹത്തിന് നന്മ ചെയ്യുകയെന്നുള്ളതേയുള്ളു. അങ്ങനെതന്നെയാണ് വേണ്ടതും. മഹാനായ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞൻ ഐൻസ്റ്റീൻ പറഞ്ഞ ഒരു വാചകത്തോടെ ഈ കുറിപ്പ് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ.

DocsPad, Lets users view and edit any document online acquired by Yahoo!

Indian Start-up Company Bookpad has been acquired by Yahoo. Bookpad was incubated at the Karnataka Government-backed Startup Warehouse in Bangalore. As reported by The Economic Times, the Internet giant has apparently snapped up the company for roughly $8.3 million and The Times of India says the deal is likely to have been agreed upon for the higher price of $15 million.

The company is known its product DocsPad. Lets users view and edit any document within a website or App. Unlike Google Docs or Microsoft Office 365, it is not a consumer-facing service. DocsPad has been designed to simplify editing documents online. It provides an API that can get integrated into services and apps allowing for editing of various file types including - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, ODT, ODP, ODX, ePub 2.0 and most common image formats.

This is not the first start-up from India that a company from the US has acquired in 2014. Earlier this year, Facebook lapped up Little Eye Labs, the company develops performance analysis and monitoring tools for Android developers and Google also bought India based spam fighting company Imperium.

Good news for three young entrepreneurs, and graduates of IIT Guwahati are all in their twenties Ashwik Reddy, Niketh Sabbineni, Aditya Bandi with Yahoo acquiring their city-based start-up can still pull out the successful start-up stories. The fact that major players are eyeing Bangalore start-ups is putting the sparkle back in India's Silicon Valley.

FireChat - Brilliant new App will keep you messaging even when there’s no Internet

FireChat is an app that lets you messaging to people within 200 feet of your location without an internet connection - but this 'Nearby' mode was previously limited to showing chats from those using the same operating system. This was because the app used Apple’s MultiPeer Connectivity Framework in iOS 7, but made use of its own mesh networking technology on Android devices.

The company behind FireChat, Open Garden, says this was made possible through the development of a peer-to-peer mesh networking technology across iOS and Android. Open Garden CEO and Co-founder Micha Benoliel said that off-the-grid messaging between iOS and Android helps people connect even when there is no infrastructure, though the 200 feet limitation does make you wonder why you can’t simply talk directly to the person you want to reach instead.

Though there doesn’t seem to be that many situations in which people need to turn to FireChat, Open Garden says it has reached the top 10 among social networking apps in over a hundred countries - and its popularity is particularly prominent in countries that may have poor internet access or government restrictions on internet.

FireChat’s Chief Marketing Officer Christophe Daligault told that the app has seen a surge in downloads in Iraq over the early months of 2014, for comparison, FireChat’s total number of downloads all over the world number about five million now. In terms of usage, Daligault revealed that Iraq is currently ranked second after the US. This happened as the Iraqi government ordered a total internet shutdown in five of the nation’s 19 provinces and limited internet access in the rest of the country.

FireChat is currently available in English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. In addition to instant messages, FireChat also supports photo transfers, with the company saying the app has 'no significant impact on battery consumption' and no login, no password to remember.

ഐ.ടി ആക്ട് 2008 (IT Act 2008)

2008 ലെ ഐ.ടി അമെന്റ്മെന്റ് ആക്ട് America's Patriot Act നു സമാനമായ ഒന്നാണെന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. അമേരിക്കയിലെ സെപ്റ്റമ്പർ 11 നുണ്ടായ ദാരുണസംഭവത്തിനു ശേഷമാണു അവിടുത്തെ ആക്ട് പാസാക്കിയെടുത്തത്. അതു പോലെ നവമ്പർ 26 നു ബോംബെയിലുണ്ടായ ആക്രമണത്തിനു ശേഷം പസ്സാക്കിയെടുത്തതാണു ഇവിടുത്തെ നിയമം. നവമ്പർ 26 ലെ ബോംബെ ആക്രമണം പ്ലാൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ നെറ്റ് വർക്കിൽ കൂടെയുള്ള ടെലിഫോൺ സംഭാഷണങ്ങൾ (VoIP) ഒരു സുപ്രധാന പങ്ക് വഹിച്ചിരുന്നുവെന്നു ഇന്റലിജൻസ് ബ്യൂറോ കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാരിനെ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു.

അപ്രകാരമുള്ള സംഭാഷണങ്ങളെ (VoIP) നിയന്ത്രിക്കാനും നിരീക്ഷിക്കാനും അതുവരെ നിയമങ്ങളില്ലായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ഈ നിയമം പാസ്സായതിനു ശേഷം ഇനി സർക്കാരിനു എവിടെയുമുള്ള കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിലോ ഫോണിലോ മറ്റു ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് ഉപകരണങ്ങളിലോ നിരീക്ഷിക്കാം (monitor). കോടതി ഉത്തരവിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ മാത്രം ഇതുവരെ അന്വേഷണം നടത്തിയിരുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ഇനിമേൽ കോടതി ഇടപെടാതെ തന്നെ സർക്കാരിനു അന്വേഷണം നടത്താം, നടപടിയെടുക്കാം എന്നായിരിക്കുന്നു.

ഐ.ടി ആക്ട് 2000 ത്തിൽ നിന്നു 45 ഓളം ഭേദഗതികളോടുകുടിയ ഈ നിയമം ചർച്ച കൂടാതെയാണു പാർലമെന്റ് പാസ്സാക്കിയെടുത്തത്. അന്നു (23-12-2008) പാർലമെന്റിൽ സന്നിഹിതരായിരുന്ന നമ്മുടെ ജനപ്രതിനിധികൾ ലോക് സഭയുടെ നടുത്തളത്തിലിറങ്ങി കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി എ. ആർ. ആന്തുലെയുടെ രാജിക്ക് വേണ്ടി മുറവിളികൂട്ടി പാർലമെന്റിനെ ഇളക്കിമറിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒരു ചർച്ചയും കൂടാതെ 15 മിനുട്ടിനുള്ളിൽ പാസ്സാക്കിയടുത്ത നിയമങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു ഐ.ടി ആക്ട് 2008 ആയിരുന്നു.

ഏതെങ്കിലും സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ ഈ നിയമത്തിനെ ദുരുപയോഗം ചെയ്യുന്നത് ഒഴിവാക്കാനായുള്ള ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്താൻ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല. ഈ നിയമം മൂലം പെട്ടുപോകുന്ന നിരപരാധികളുടെ രക്ഷക്കായി ഒരു ‘ഓംബുഡ്സ്മാനോ’ അതുപോലുള്ള മറ്റ് കാര്യങ്ങളോ ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഇല്ല. എല്ലാം ‘നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ’ എന്ന വാക്കുകളിൽ ഒതുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ആർ നിർദ്ദേശിക്കും എന്നു കണ്ടറിയണം. അധികാരങ്ങൾ വാരിക്കോരി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ നിയമം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വങ്ങൾകൂടി സംശയങ്ങൾക്കിടയില്ലാതെ നിർവചിക്കണമായിരുന്നു. അതില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ ദുരുപയോഗം കൂടുമെന്നു വ്യക്തം. അടിയന്തിരാവസ്ഥയിലോ പൊതുജനസുരക്ഷിതത്വത്തിനു വേണ്ടിയോ മാത്രമായിരുന്നു Clause 5(2) of the Indian Telegraph Act of 1885 അനുസരിച്ച് ഫോൺ ടാപ്പിംഗ് അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നുള്ളൂ. എന്നാൽ പുതുക്കിയ ഐ.ടി ആക്ടിൽ അടിയന്തിരാവസ്ഥ, പൊതുജനസുരക്ഷ എന്നിവയെപറ്റിയൊന്നും ഒരക്ഷരം പറയുന്നില്ല.

As I said there is no limit, some people earn around 1000$ in a month. Others earn 100$ in a month and others less than it. Even some people earn above 10000$ in a month. This is actually depends upon how efficiently a publisher can use Ads on his/her site.

In order to become eligible to receive payments from AdSense account, all publishers are required to enter a Personal Identification Number (PIN). AdSense will send your PIN via standard mail after your account balance reaches US $10 for the first time. PIN typically arrive within 2-4 weeks, but may take longer depend on your location.

If you have not entered a PIN within 4 months, Adsense will replace the paid advertisements on your site with unpaid Public Service Ads. If you still have not entered your PIN within 6 months, your account will be disabled and your unpaid earnings will be refunded to the appropriate advertisers.

You have to fill your payee name. Google will issue AdSense checks to this name. So be sure that your name at the bank (where you have an account) and the payee name you are providing in AdSense sign up form are same. After you completing the Sign up process AdSense team will review your website and reply you via email are your site approved or not. They usually reply within a week. If you want to make any update or change you can do it after getting approval. In approval mail you will get a tutorial how to put Ads on your site. But keep in mind one person is not allowed for more than one AdSense account.
